You Are Where You Should Be
Mixed-media collage, 6" x 8" x 3"
Vintage comic pages, vintage road map, raised resin elements on wood. One of one.

A Missouri-Tennessee highway map serves as the ground for this piece — routes, county lines, and town names from Poplar Bluff to Memphis still legible beneath the action layered over it. Cut from vintage cowboy comics, riders, broncos, and shouted dialogue tear across the map's surface in jagged strips, torn the way old roads wear down at the edges. A cowboy and his rearing horse rise off the surface entirely, built up and sealed in resin, dimensional against the flat geography below.

Down the right edge, a single salvaged strip of text runs vertical, almost easy to miss: you are where you should be. It reads less like reassurance than a dare — a line lifted from somebody else's adventure story, repurposed as a verdict on the open road itself, and on whoever's standing in front of the piece reading it.

A one-of-a-kind work; this exact configuration of map and comic fragments won't be repeated.
