Mixed media collage on wood, finished in resin
Torn strips of vintage comic paper are layered horizontally across this piece, built up like sediment — bands of dusty blue sky, warm amber, deep plum, and forest green stacked one on top of the next. Rather than preserving any panel or character, the comic paper is broken down to its rawest elements: color, gesture, and printed line. Hand-inked detail threads through the layers, adding texture and movement where the torn edges meet.
The result is an abstracted landscape — something between a sunset, a mountain range, and a memory of one — built entirely from found paper and ink, sealed under a glassy resin finish.
Details:
8" x 12" on wood panel
Resin-sealed surface, ready to hang
One-of-a-kind, signed by the artist
Part of Patrick Fitzpatrick's ongoing Pop Culture series
