Cowboys - Comics and a Horse
Cowboys - Comics and a Horse
Sometimes the best pieces come together when you're not trying too hard.
"Cowboys - Comics and a Horse" is one of those studio accidents that turned into something I actually love. I was digging through a box of vintage ephemera—old photos, paper scraps, the kind of stuff most people would toss—and found this image that just had this perfect Western vibe. Then I started layering in comic panels, and suddenly cowboys were hanging out with superheroes, and a horse was probably questioning all its life choices.
That's the thing about working with found materials—they bring their own stories, their own energy. My job is just to give them a second act. This piece mixes vintage photography with comic book panels in a way that creates this weird little narrative. Is it serious? Is it playful? Yes.
Part of the Found & Forgotten series, where I rescue old photos and paper from obscurity and give them new life with unexpected twists.
